9Cr15MoV
An extremely practical steel that is similar in characteristics to 440C and AUS-10. 9Cr15MoV is an excellent choice for a practical working knife. A blade from this steel can be repaired or conditioned if necessary in the field. Increased molybdenum content increases the corrosion resistance, provides uniform distribution of chromium in the metal structure, and also facilitates the uniform hardness over the entire thickness of the blade.
